I Write
56When the universe inspires me I write.
When a pretty lady desires me I write.
When it seems it can’t get any worse,
or when the joy demands a new verse,
or it’s my imagination that I must traverse, I write.
I write when the fire burns in me.
I write when emotion churns through me.
I write when the world turns from me,
and when that child like wonder returns to me, I write.
And when the last word is done,
And I’ve read everyone.
I find that I had great fun.
Because I write.

Very nicely done. Inspiration can be so nice and it is great when it hits like that upon waking up. A late friend of mine used to say that there is a moment, upon awaking, when we are just perfect. Then our brain becomes engaged and we start thinking. It seems you were able to catch that brief moment!

After a long long time ( as usual caught up with a lot of things in college) had an urge to get back to hubpages and see what was happening. I WRITE has again motivated me to get back to writing. Thank you Pete. Love the way you write.
As I said in another poem, "We did not choose writing, writing chose us." If it is in you, you will write. You may leave for a time but you will come back to it.
